Did you know that Work to Trees in the Conservation Area requires Planning Permission six weeks in advance from Chorley Council before you commence any work?

Trees in our Conservation area ( see map of Croston CA. on Chorley Council website) are protected. This means  you must get consent from Chorley Council who inform the Parish Council before you can carry out any work to a tree in this area. Failure to do so could result in prosecution and a fine of up to £20, 000. You will also normally have to plant a replacement  tree if the tree was cut down or destroyed. Full details are available on Chorley Council website . Certain trees in the village have Tree Preservation Orders (T.P.O.) on them and these too are protected . There is also a very interesting map of the trees with T.P.O. on Chorley Council website.
